Title Executive Chef – Warwick Conference Park & Events

Warwick Conferences is the largest commercial business at the University of Warwick with an overall annual turnover of circa £30 million. The award winning Conference Park and Events business, sits at the centre of the University hosts a wide, large and diverse range of events across the year, with numbers in excess of 1000 during the key Easter and summer vacation periods.

The Conference Park is an amalgamation of dedicated facilities and the Asset utilisation of the wider University creating a large conference venue that hosts events ranging from 10 – to over 1000. At the same time providing an internal service to the University for Catering, Events.

Operating all year round, 7 days a week, the operation is high volume, catering for an extensive array of customers, offering anything from formal dinners of 600, VIP catering in boardrooms, daily restaurant service of 1000 during vacation, as well as daily events internally.

Reporting to the GM for Conference Park & Events (CP&E) you will have line management of a senior team and brigade of chefs and a BOH assistant manager and their team.

CP&E operates through a main central kitchen, as well as a number of satellite areas, at times the requirements can be in challenging areas and menu innovation / operational delivery experience is key.

As the Executive Chef for Conference Park & Events you will ultimately be responsible for

• food production across all areas
• driving innovation and improvement of service and menus
• delivering food to key VIP events across the University
• financial performance of the kitchens
• maintaining quality and consistency in all that we offer

To be successful you will have;

• Significant senior level leadership experience within the Hospitality industry
• Experience in a wide range of catering, inc Large scale catering, and VIP dining
• Track record of developing food concepts and menu development
• Experience of Working for a target driven business
• A track record of service improvement and sound financial management
• Excellent attention to detail and be able to multi task effectively
• Excellent communication skills

We also provide all catering requirements for the University, (through Warwick Food and
Drink) catering for everything from small buffets to executive / VIP catering – Day to Day
Student Catering is not a part of this area Flexibility in working hours which will include evenings and weekends are key. The
department operates within an annualised hours framework with a number of key business
periods established during the year.
